One of the advantages of dermatology is to find, in the day-to-day consultation, infrequent pathologies but with very characteristic presentations.

In this case, a child I observed in my consultation had a small yellow-orange papule in the temporal region. Dermoscopy revealed the classic “sunset” pattern, suggestive of juvenile xanthogranuloma.

It is a benign childhood lesion that, in most cases, disappears spontaneously over the years.

Although rare, ocular involvement may occur, which is why observation by ophthalmology should be considered, especially in young children.
